2 Words: Hot Yoga

I’m in love with hot yoga! Fad? Maybe. I enjoy the practice and the benefits that it brings. Being new to yoga, I am still learning all the different poses and trying to perfect my form. It is always a work in progress. So you may be asking yourself…what is hot yoga?

Hot Yoga: Hot yoga refers to yoga exercises performed under hot and humid conditions. Often associated with the style devised by Bikram Choudhury, hot yoga is now used to describe any number of yoga styles that use heat to increase an individual’s flexibility in the poses. In colder climates, hot yoga often seeks to replicate the heat and humidity of India where yoga originated.

So in a nutshell, it is yoga performed in a really hot room. It gets sweaty and intense. And I cannot get enough of it. I attended my first early morning session today and I feel so energized to start my day! Hot yoga is a great exercise for relieving stress, stretching, toning and healing. It is my way of escaping all the struggles and worries that I have throughout the day. Taking the time in the morning or evening to clear your head and realign with your intentions makes the day so much better. I sleep well, eat healthier and feel great.

Salt in Tulsa has been a great studio for learning the practice.
